Finally finished
This is copied and pasted from my FB page:
Gary Mann order. Measures about 16" wide and 24" tall. Cut from scrap pieces of cherry for the corners, a cherry ply backer and Bubinga for the Chinese lettering and frame. Means ""SHORINKAN KANJI" The Kanji (symbols) say "shorinkan" which is the specific type of Karate we practice. (quoted from Gary Mann)
I did have some problems squaring this up and had to rip the frame off with the table saw and go about it differently. I have never done a framed piece before, so this was a challenge for me.Attached FilesTags: None

Reply to Stack CuttingI had considered useing a hot glue gun but I like to be able to reuse some of the bigger waste pieces. Also when I use brads and they extend through the bottom piece I am always carefull to take a small hammer and tap the points back up flush with the bottom piece so I do not scratch the table.

Reply to Stack Cuttingby eric_h_eGood idea. I’ll have to try that when I get to the point of stack cutting. 👍
