  • Wolf-Charlie Dearing

Rainman, here is my attempt at the wolf in Charlies's book. I have not framed it yet. it is just sitting on a scrap background.
I agree that some of the patterns in the book look pretty impossible to cut-especially the Grizzly Bear.
I made the mistake of cutting the wolf and the elephant the same A4 size as the book. Some of the patterns need to be considerably enlarged, both to do the pattern justice and to make it easier to cut

Ray . The designer has used a bit of artistic licence in drawing it. You have to do the same in cutting it. Remember that once the pattern comes off not even you will know where the small modifications have been made

                FOUND THIS ON FB,
I have been told people are asking why the cuts are so close together in my book. Yes, I do large cuttings but PART of the reason is also because when I submit my designs, they put a dark outline around each cut. That dark outline is what "crowds" the cut-outs. I'll admit maybe some of my designs are close anyway, but please let them know I submit them without those outlines.
THIS COMMENT WAS POSTED BY CHARLES DEARING,AND HE HOPES THIS WILL GO SOME WAY TOO EXPLAIN ANY PROBLEM PEOPLE MAY HAVE WITH HIS PATTERN,S

I cut out 2 of the lions and had no problem. Sometime you have to improvise to fit your skill level. One time I was cutting out this turkey and it broke twice one me. So I added a few connections and got it cut out. Most designers don't mind if you change it to suit your needs. Have fun. Bobby

To me it is imporant that Charles Dearing know that I very much enjoy and respect his work. I would be dishonest if I said I was'nt disappointed in this book. That being said I have cut and have sold many of his others works. Once cut of course. I never meant any insult, I was just wanting to cut more of the patterns that are in the book that I think cannot be cut the way they are. I was just looking for suggestions about patterns in the book and I'm glad to see someone cut the wolf. I cut many advanced patterns but just did'nt understand what to do about some of these patterns. I apologize if I offended Mr. Dearing but I was'nt trying to do that, was just looking for help. Tks, Ray
