  • Military Tribute Plaque's

Our church as a photo display of all our active serving military service people.
I modified Steve Good's Patterns to remove the word veteran and cut these out of 1/4" BB Ply.

They are finished with 2 coats of Amber Shellac and 3 coats of gloss Lacquer.

US Coast Guard was easiest to cut and took about 3 hrs. US Marine about same time. US Navy about 3.5 hrs and US Army & US Air Force about 4 hrs ea. I used FD Polar # 1 to cut them.

    All comments are welcomed.

Great job Eric on all the cuttings. The Marines always do everything faster. LOL.

Great cutting & wonderful designs. Of course, I am a bit partial to the USN design the most (and Sailors, of course, are always right there in the middle [of things]).

I'm partial to Air Force ( '66 - '72 ), but we're all belonging to the same brotherhood.

SLRA does a “spot” check. He’s lucky I’m keeping him around. It was free with a purchase at harbor freight. When people pick up a basket to examine, usually first time customers, they inspect everything for glue ups, drill holes, etc. of course, I don’t think half of them know what they are...

Back in my days of collecting antique pottery, I used to carry a a small blacklight unit to check for repairs that were invisible to the naked eye. I never knew that it could detect glue spots. That's a lot neater than using mineral spirits, or waiting until a sealer coat of shellac reveals missed...

Being a diet controlled type 2 diabetic, I check my glucose. Checked before my shot on Tuesday it was fine. Checked on Wednesday after a morning walk expecting to see less than 100 and about fainted when it read 158. Every check has been 150 or more since then. Started reading and yes, the shots can...

Not yet Jim. The corners of the baskets to appear to be drawn by hand or just a bad copy. The price might go up. Thanks Linda. For some reason I really like doing layered baskets. And my customers like buying them. Bruce read a blacklight shows glue spots. Guess what he bought me from harbor freight...
