  • Just playing!

I always wanted to see how small I could make the reindeer.
I should have used cherry as the wood I used is too fuzzy.
The biggest is 5 1/2 , then 3 1/2 then down to 1" and the smallest is 1/2" . for the smallest I used a Pegas 2/0 28 TPI. I am amazed that the first cut survived,

I’ve seen demos at the woodworking shows of the deer but they never were that small. That would be a cute display for a fireplace mantle.

            I make these.

and these, the larger ones cut with a bandsaw.

I have made smaller ones, but the antlers are difficult to cut without breaking.

BadBob, where did you get that pattern? The one with the turned head? I really like them.

I found these in an old scroll saw magazine a couple of years ago. Sorry, I can't tell you any better than that. It occurs to me that I should start documenting the source of my patterns.

I have that pattern. Have no idea where I got it from. I had to copy from a magazine as it is on blue paper. There’s also a whale on my copy. I’ll look for it. I think I know where it is.

It is approximately 5 1/2" x 11". Cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using Pegas #3R MGT blades and Pegas #1 Spiral blades for...
