Thought I'd do a different lock this time. A bicycle lock works different from other padlocks where as it's shackle is totally removeable from the lock body. So I thought ...why not try to make one of those this time. Body and shackle are maple and walnut. Shackle is a piece of 3/4 x 3-1/2 x 7-1/2" maple that I cut out and rounded on my router table (scary). Each section (5 total) of the lock body contains a part of the locking mechanism. The shackle can be inserted any way and still locks (not from the bottom of course). I off-set the notches in the shackle legs so it locks in more positions. Everything is wood including the lock tabs inside the body.

Reply to Frustratedby markdavdWhen a blade slips out, the tendency is to tighten it more. Make sure you haven't over-tightened the clamp forcing the sides apart. Most OEM clamps are made from soft aluminum so once it starts they will continue spreading and it will be near-impossible to keep the blades in place.
