I've have another project finished for Evelyn's office. She'll have business cards at this job. It's made from Zebra wood and finished with Shellac I used the pattern by Steve Good. I made a change to the pattern is cut. I used spray adhesive to glue the inner box pattern to the outer box pattern, it saves wood and it helps to get a good fit of the two halves. I have a request for a box like it from her boss. Any and all comments are welcome

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Evelyn is going to give this box to her boss. I'll make one for her from the lace wood she picked out at Woodcraft.
Hope you don't mind but "give this box to her box" was driving me to hysterics I had to change it for you...Last edited by wood-n-things; 03-20-2012, 10:06 AM.sigpic: Dan US Navy PR1 (Ret)

Bob Your sure right about that but it fun making them and most times the smile on the face of the person you give it to is worth so much. I say most of the time because I made some bowls, baskets and boxes for some of Evelyn's co workers I think it was for CNA/Med Tec week. Most of the people were thrilled to get one but a few were up set that thwy didn't get something more. I still had fun making them.sigpic: Dan US Navy PR1 (Ret)

I was going to build one but this thing works great. I will get a charcoal filter for it also. Great when doing Pyrography. They also had a Pfingst brand flex shaft tool I haven't...

by will8989Carole, only you would cut sprinkles on a scrollsaw. I would probably use rice and stain it. I just gave up replacing my insert. Its worn, but works for what I need. I do sand it to make sure there are no burrs sticking up to scratch the wood. I will be trying the new contact paper when mine runs...

Reply to Shawl pinsby will8989Thick hair would need a larger opening, thinner hair would require a smaller opening to stay in place. The one being shown in the utube would probably work for thicker hair. They look way better than a pencil or dowel! That elephant sure is cute in her hair!.
