  • 4 Drawer Hex Box

Made from a plywood called ApplePly that was gotten from my local Lowes. I used a 1/4 inch curley maple face and back plate for this one. This ply has two very good maple faces and void free birch plys. As you can see there are very few if any voids in the ply. This is the US's answer to Baltic Birch Ply. Sealed with tung oil and then a shellac top coat.

Haven't seen that ply at my local Lowes, just wondering why they call it ApplePly if its front and back are maple????? Thanks for the tip, you sure do some nice work (play).

An really awesome box DW. I'm going to have to check my local lowes to see if they carry that kind of plywood it may also make a nice bowl.

Hey DW; Beautiful box. Luv it. What are the dimensions? I still have'nt resolved my hitachi problem. I checked out the link you sent me and the motor, if it's that, cost 184.00. DW time.

The box is 5 3/4 high x 6 wide x 4 7/8 deep. I seriously doubt that the motor is bad... check the brushes and make sure that they are free to move. At $184 that is the cost of a brand new Porter Cable. The Porter Cable and the Hatachi are made at the same factory the only real difference is the Porter Cable has a angle indicator built into the table where as the CW40 has it on the part that is below the table.

Cool - I wondered what ApplePly was but the employees were clueless. It looked nice.
