Now there's an interesting idea! So did you stack-cut the design? And then you glue in the paper, then glue the sections together? I like it a lot - nice job!

That is exactly what I did PatteM. I took and stack cut 2 - 1/4 in thick pieces. Stained both an antique oak with a water based stain then glued the tissue to one half then carefully positioned the other side and glued them together. With a little bit of playing you could even make parts of the sky other colors but I chose to make it all a light blue instead. This works well with votive displays as well.

Pattern by Steve Good. light blue tissue is sandwiched between 2 1/4 thick sections. The wood is poplar stained with water based stains - Oak and Red Mahogany. Finished with Shellac.
