  • Latest boxes I have built

Here a a few of the new boxes I have built...sorry about the pictures are not better. All were made from Koa (what the store wants to purchase) You can see that Koa never looks the same...at times I will find white in the board, the color of pine. The shell design came from Kim...I believe she made a few using Carole's ring design on the scroll saw. She was nice enough to share the pattern with me, but I used the bandsaw of course. I have 6 more I will post as soon as they are finished.

Nice job, Larry. I especially like #3, which looks like leaves on a tree. Looking forward to seeing the other 6--you've been busy!

WD, I work on the boxes during the day (when the wife does not have me doing allot to help her around here) and like to read the Kindle while laying in bed at night. I'm sure I could find a few more hours during the day, but then I would not find time to play on the computer and read these posts.

I may have to see some of these up close. I'm coming late March, be on Hawaii for 2 days or so then off to Kauai 5 days. First time and we are getting excited. Might have to bring an extra suitcase to bring some of that Koa back!

Jerry, 2 days isn't long enough to see the Big Island....but you will have to make due...where will you be staying while you are here? I live in an area called Ocean View, which is about 1/2 way between Hilo and Kona...the two larger towns. Better bring some extra money along with the extra suit case....they think Koa is gold around here most of the time.

By the way, you are coming at a great time of year...of course there really isn't a bad time of year in Hawaii. You will love it. Of course the Big Island is much larger than Kauai, but there is so much to do on all the Islands. Have fun
