Ok so I wanted to gett rid of end grain showing on side of boxs,So I gluded up some 3/4 by 2" in a square with conters at 45%. then cut it round. I s there any other way to this? If you don't have 2" wood. Lance

You would need to make a raft that was all end grain. Cut your board into 1 inch wide strips. The top and bottom get glued together leaving the end grain exposed. Cut your bowl from this glue up and you should have no end grain showing on the sides only the bottom of the bowl.
DWLife is hard. It is even harder when you are being stupid.
