  • Birdhouses with Bic pen refills

Previously I posted some pens made using drill press, scroll saw, and sanders.
You can view my method at post # 11 here
I also made these with this method.

My little birdhouse pens were made with the scroll saw to cut out the houses, then turned on my lathe. Except for one pen, no glue was used on these. Pens have Bic pen ink refills, el cheapo. I purchased them for 97 cents, 10 in a pack at Walmart.
What a fun project, sure would love to see others making some, with or without a lathe.

Sweeeet pen Trout, they serve to be a great use of those scraps. Looks like yellow heart, and purple heart that you must have had left over from your fantastic skateboard bear project.
Bet you can't make just one ........I already have a cigar box full waiting for the fund raiser.

Great idea, and excellant workmanship. So, can these be made without a lathe? I have tons of scraps...these great projects could be the answer!

If I wanted to do a pen with a skill on it. How wide can the skill be before it's turned down,

Jo, when I got my hegner long ago it had a light with it. In the back of the light was an outlet for the footpedal. I put in a 3 prong plug and plugged in my footpedal and vacuum. Ran great for 15 years. A few years ago the outlet on the lamp died and my footpedal at the same time. I had to replace...
