Wooden Gear Clock

Hi all I'm making a wooden gear clock from scroll saw wooden clocks 31 favorite projects & patterns, but the drawings are a bit short on measurements.The instructions tell you to lay the 3/32 brass rod onto the crutch pattern but there is no pattern. Any suggestions? (torner)
