    Newbie Practice Patterns

    Here are a few functional patterns for those new to scrolling. The smaller one is a plate holder. The larger is a modified plate holder that should be able to support a larger piece like an 8x10 panel, not in a frame. Too top heavy and it will likely topple over.

    The patterns are small but will help hone one's curve cutting skills. As you can see, there are also a few straight lines. When you cut the slots (sized for 1/8" material) cut on the line and then shave with the blade to get a tight fit.

    You can use scraps for the practice but will end up with some display stands for your better work.
