  • First Scroll Project

    Hi all,
First off, I'm new to woodworking and decided to try my hand at scrolling. My neighbor had a 1950's ish Wards Powr-Kraft scroll saw that needed (still needs more work) to get going good. But anyways, Here is my first ever scroll project with it. Any criticisms or ideas on how to get any better results are more than welcome. Thank you for looking. Everett

That's a heck of a good start...especially using some old dinosaur from the 50's...
I can't think of any critique for you..
            Beautiful..!!!!

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. I like to get a more modern saw, but funds are tight right now. Here's a pic of the dinosaur. I made the pulleys so that I could get it running.

Welcome from another Missourian. Looks like you are off to a good start. You can do good work with that machine, a new one would only make it easier.

Great work, and I really like the pattern. You're pretty talented in more than one area! I look forward to seeing more of what you do!

Amazing First project. I think my first project looked like it was done with a radial arm saw. Great work.

If there is one thing I can make perfect every time it is sawdust.

That's very good for your first cutting and that saw is pretty cool looks to me like it would cut a 4" piece of wood pretty easily.Jerry

                            Thank you.
Duke: It will fit a 3" under tensioner at full downstroke, but it don't want to cut 2 1/2 thich pattern( i.e. 3D reindeer). I'm thinking it could be my blade. What blade would you recommend. I'm using the FD-SR #5.
