  • ordering patterns...

    I am sooo...P_SSED!
I've been dieing to start a new project so 3 weeks ago I ordered a pattern.
after 4 or 5 days not reviewing my order I figured I better check up on it...
come to find out, my credit card for $6.00 had been denied..
after review I found that I put the wrong year in for the expiration date...

NO PROBLEM...that's what I get for not wearing my glasses...

so I reordered the pattern with the same card and the right expiration date.
3 day's go by and I get a call from the company wanting to know why I'm reordering when the last order was denied, so I explained it to them and they said they would get on it..
2 more days go by and the order still hadn't been processed..

another call and they said thing were good and it would be shipped out the following day...
today Friday, I have high hopes that my pattern will be in the mail so I go out and spend $40 worth of wood to come home and to find NO pattern!

it you remember, this is the weekend I'm home alone waiting for work to call while the wife is up at the lake with all our fishing friends (past post)...
I had plans on sawing until midnight, so instead I'm here at the computer having a few shot's of DJ, telling you my sorry story...

Hopefully it will be here tomorrow...

in the mean time, maybe I could cut and shape this into a quilt square..

      full size version...

I do have a smaller version cut out for the quilt..
it's 4 1/2 inches long and it's cut out of 1/2 inch red oak...
now for the fun part...tring to shape the small peices...

          Trout,

That story is so wild it makes me wonder if it is one of those "fish stories." You know, like the one that got away...

            here I am...

            jacking up my own thread....

I've done two of these Trout...

The picture above is one of my first pieces made out of Poplar..it was raffled off on the fishing message board where I also hang out on. over 100 people signed up for that raffle....

The second one was out of red oak which was the better piece because it was shaped the way it was suppose to be. I sent that one up to a guy who took me and my wife fishing while we were on vacation in Montana last year...

the only reason I'm making this one out of red oak is because that's the only wood I have in 1/2 inch....

I better get back to work..

this might make a nice quilt square...

              I resized the pattern to 4 1/2 x 4 1/2....

I've got a great tip for making black spots..it sure beats the maker pen that I used on this peice...

That'll take some fine scrolling to make it fit on a 4½" square . Mind, you're the man to do it . I can't wait to see the results (and hear your tip for black spots).

                  I got up early...

this morning to listen to a fishing radio show...
a couple of the local fishing guides that we arranged to give talks to our group at the lake were out on the water giving reports...

and to my suprize...I heard that my wife is out with one of the guides and he reported that they were catching fish....

this afternoon, I just might have to drive the 2 hours just to have dinner with them..maybe I can talk them into drawing the grand raffle prize first which is the rod rack that I built..

                        Hey Trout,

You didn't let her take the boat, so she's out with the Fishing guides?

I wonder who got the better deal

                        Regards,
                        Marcel

PS Is that dinner to raffle the prize or to check on her?

Hi Trout, According to my California map there are two Hayward's. Which one is your's? I like trout fishing and I do like your rig. Nice of you, very nice, to let your wife outfish you.

the Hayward we live in is between Oakland and San Jose...
10 more years and we our out of here, I'll be 55 and I can retire with 35 years of service with the school district and then we can move to Montanna where the fishing is really good...it's getting almost impossible to live here anymore. and they wonder why our kid enrollment for ours schools are dropping, no one can afford to live here! you can't touch a house for under $500,000...HELL, you can't even touch a condo for that..
plus we pay the higher gas prices and the traffic is so bad that getting out of town is almost impossible. that 2 hour trip to the lake I took saturday would of been a 5 hour trip on friday...

but you know our california story...

BTW, if you were closer, you would be more than welcometo go fishing with me...
