Just curious, would you be using turquoise with you silver jewerly?...they seem to go nice together. Do you know where would one find designs for this. I have been making wooden jewerly out of various woods, and mostly using my own designs. Thanks Bob

Once again you have pointed me in the right direction. Thanks so much for the info and the warning as I am new to this and will take all of the pointers I can get.

Try a Google search using the following terms:

    silversmithing supplies

silver sheet 18 ga (or what ever gage thick you want)

If you want to really get into silversmithing, you will want to move into the 4/0 and 6/0 blade range; these are just too small for my eyes. Try this source: http://www.silversupplies.com/catalo...ws/index.shtml
Scroll down the page and look for Pike brand blades. I think these are really for hand saws, but should work at very low speeds. Don't use these blades on wood!

(Need I add a warning about hot metal and wood saw dust?)

I'd like to make some silver jewelry using my scroll saw. Does anyone have a source for silver?

    Cutting Styles
    by millwab
In preparation for a scrolling demonstration I decided to make up a piece that would show the different ways I've cut puzzles. It's 2 layers of 1/8" BB. The puzzles were cut out as tray puzzles and then glued back in so pieces wouldn't get lost as it was handled.

Update at 13 AprilIts been almost a month since my last post and my shop extension is progressing albeit slowly largely due to me nibbling at it on a regular basis rather than sticking with it and going full blast to get it finished.

    The outside
of the extension is almost finished apart...

Quartz I only bought the air filter, That same model is sold by many distributors, I see Grizzly has it and several others. I was going to build one but this thing works great. I will get a charcoal filter for it also. Great when doing Pyrography. They also had a Pfingst brand flex shaft tool I haven't...
