  • FYI ... Using Old Tutorials with Flash

FYI .... I decided to learn Inkscape & Gimp and found that the old tutorials are all made to use Adobe Flash. Due to security concerns with Flash, Adobe retired Flash in 2020 so our modern browsers do not have a Flash plug-in. After some research, I found that I could add the "Ruffle" extension to my Chrome browser and view the videos. It was free and seems to work fine.

Hi B'ville - As author of the tutorials posted on the forum I was also looking for a way to make them easily accessible again but having tested Ruffle out your suggestion is much easier to use than mine.

Over the next 24 hrs I'll edit the original posts to include the info on the Ruffle extension

I really appreciate you sharing your findings.

    Cheers!

Questions are answered freely around here and no one has any tricks they don't freely share.

Welcome! John! From Reno NV. A long time 788 user (I'm94) I'm sure you will get many happy hours from the repairs you placed on the machine.

I'm 74, retired from the commercial dimensional advertising world. (carved and routed signs).
I've always used the Roto-Zip, band saw, or other tools to make my projects. (wishing many times I had a good scroll saw). Well, I finally found an old DW-788 that the original owner said "it finally...

I use acrylic paint mixed with water to stain when I want vibrant colors. There was an article in one of the issues awhile back where a product called "Unicorn Spit" was suggested for the colors---and many people swear by it....

Oh my gosh Betty....Your son is fortunate to be alive. How badly stung was he by the hornets? Electrical shock is crazy dangerous. Wow.
