  • Clip art and objectsto make patterns

    Hello

I was wondering where you guys get your art to make patterns. Do you draw it or use clip art that is not copyright to make them. if you use clip art where do you get it from?

    Thank you in advance

I will frequently take pictures on my digital camera, then use those as my basis to sketch up a pattern from. Quick and easy method for simple pattern from your photo: make a printout on regular paper of your photo, tape that photo to a window on sunny day, put tracing paper on top of it, trace the lines you want to use for a pattern, and tweek as desired. No copyright issue, and it is 100% your very own original.

      I generally draw my own.

See http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/inf...eative+commons for a good way to search for creative commons works.

Hi Tom - Like Rob I tend to draw my own or make composite /modified drawings from public domain and copyright free clipart. One site I lean on quite a lot is Openclipart - Clipart, Download Royalty Free Clip Art Library, Images, Icons
