      Tadammmmmm ! ๐Ÿ˜

The covid Angel is now ready to please my brother in law , with a funny face different, that I found while trying to be funny, and a kind that Marc will like I am sure. ๐Ÿ˜‰
And Marc is our Covid Angel and my brother in law !

The hair is a โ€œ wood applicationโ€ that we put on a panel or furniture etc.

The entire piece is in cherry, the covid ball ( with small nail ) and eyebrow are in Bubinga , the eyes are in Amarant wood .

Have a lot of fun doing it, and learn a lot the way how to sculpted, but still have a lot to learn. I found that (for me ) sculpturing need that you have to be very calm and each scalpel or tool strokes must be calculated and never in a hurry ๐Ÿ˜ฒ!

      IMG_1892-1.jpg

      Finish with Osmo oil satin.
Thanks again for your supports and advises, I am not yet a sculptor but know more now the ability of those artists !

Very cool. It's coming along nicely. Love the way you did the foot area! If you want to kinda test what the piece will look like once you put a finish on it, brush it with mineral spirits. It brings out the natural richness of the wood mimicking a bit of what oil or other clear coats would do. Plus mineral spirits dries without staining.

That came out just great. I think you have raised the bar for all of us. Now what is your next challenge?

I guess Iโ€™m just impulsive. Had I thought like Bruce, I would never had bought my brand new โ€˜69 cougar I saw in the showroom when I drove by it, went in and bought. Or the panther snowmobile a few months later. Didnโ€™t know I needed one until I saw it. Living in the Poconos I got a lot of fun...

i always research, read reviews, living on SS Income and paying rent, there's very little spending money. The only way I get money to buy things, is selling something I already own. I can't take a chance of buying something and being unhappy with it.

I bought a few new pieces of equipment last year. I researched the tar out of them. Kept putting it off. Debating. Convincing myself they were pure "wants", and definitely not needs. I got impulsive and then ordered a couple of things. Nearly cancelled the orders too, since they were...

Iโ€™m doing whatโ€™s on the cover of Woodworks and Crafts, Sept 2004, for a special customer. Iโ€™m going to use 1/2โ€ wood and back with verigated grays for the background. I really love working with White oak and other quarter sawn wood. It makes beautiful baskets.

Now that you mention it Rolf, he just said something about a Nova! Woodcraft doesnโ€™t have the Rikon in stock but it is free delivery to the store, which isnโ€™t too far from us. Next week, he will still be deciding.
