I could see using the painting patterns to make those ornaments fretwork instead. If the black painted parts were cut out. What do you think?

There is a similar fretwork version coming out in the Scroll Saw Woodworks and Crafts Magazine holiday issue. The painting version would be hard to cut since it was never intended to be.
