    Just wanted to say HELLO TO EVERYBODY.

    my mane is Harry B, I live in Bloomington, IN, 72 years old, married for 50 years to the same sweet woman.
    Have been scrolling and woodworking for most of my life.

    we like travel and meet new people.

            HI all been looking in for sometime . just became a member a few wks. ago Started scrolling last yr as a way to spend time w/my boys Liam 8 / Declan 4 great hands on things to do. went from a craftsman to dewalt788 new saw opened up new world. My skill level is growing each wk. ya all are very helpfull. Thanks Dean'O 44 in Baldwinsville NY.

              Hey Harry, welcome to the fam. Sure like to see some of your work, sure we all could learn something from an ol' timer. Don't take that the wrong way o'l timer is a good thing, especially and o'l timer in wood working. Again WELCOME!

                          Without the complete schematic it is hard to know what is correct.
                          That said, it is a multispeed blower that obviously has a controller board. That board varies the power to the motor. By doing what you did you bypassed that. You put power across the low and high windings. If any thing connecting...

                          If he connected to red and black and the motor spun wouldn't that indicate the motor is grounded? Without connecting the white the circuit isn't complete and the motor should not spin.

                          The reason for the smoke is incorrect wiring, posible melted insulation between motor windings and motor frame.

                          You mentioned connecting power to the red & and black wire. Did you do anything with White wire? Per the lable on the motor the black wire is high the Red is low. White common...
