Hello, i'm new to scrolling and getting addicted very quickly. your senior (citizen) member Rolf got me hooked on his hawk, then makes me get my own saw, so i'm starting with the delta SS350LS. i'm in greenville, nc. it would be nice to know if there was anyone else in the area. i look forward to learning what i can and sharing my progress with the members.

So, Rolf gave ya a little taste of the sweet stuff and then split, huh Just don't start snortin' the sawdust and you'll learn to control your new 'habit'. Welcome.

            thanks for the warm welcome.

guess what? i'm already having problems. my new delta sounds like its going to blow up. i've retightened and lubed everything i can get to and it still sounds bad, so its getting shipped back to amazon and i'm getting the dewalt. i don't really want to spend the extra $$ but thats what plastic is for.

I use water based varathane to finish my white birch. The water based finish does not seem to change the white color of the birch whereas if I use a varathene oil based finish the wood turns what I call a honey color.

I never met my father-in-law as he passed before I was married, but I saw all his woodworking and carvings. It was part of the reason I got into woodworking... seeing those family treasures and wanting to...

This is the first compound thing I have ever cut on a scrollsaw. I see a lot of pieces like this that are just laser cut, but what is the fun of that! =) I also purchased the mechanical horse and butterfly patterns. In hindsight, I should have stack cut this because 1/4 inch plywood isn't the easiest...
