Hey everyone.
This is a big step for me in more ways than one. I normally go out and buy a cheep tool to try the craft and if I stick with it I'll go out and buy a better machine.
Well I finally figured out that the stratagy of starting cheep dosn't work well because the quality of the cheep tools actually hinder skill building. So I would never produce something with enough confidence to move on to the better machine. I'd often get frustrated and stop, and eventually my wife started saying things like, you have a whole shop full of tools that you don't use, why do you want to add to that?
Well I went out and bought the DW788 and have produced items that I like, and as soon as I clean them up a bit I'll start selling them on my site.
See the whole reason I wanted to start scrolling was to make multiple Christmas ornaments to sell. Also to add a bit of artistic touch to the birdhouses and feeders that I normally make for sale on the site.
I also sell items from other manufactuers. The big guys like Duncraft,, Droll Yankee, etc. However with the scroll saw I can add to my profit by personalizing one of the manufactuers birdhouses and feeders.
I also bought a powercarver, I've sold those in the past. This way I can personalize some metal feeders as well.
Anyway, I just wanted to give you some background and let you know why I'm here, which is to learn as much as possible.
