  • Dipping my foot in the water...

Hi, my name is Chris and I live in Logan, UT. I just joined this board in the hope that it is as good as the woodcarving one I belong to. The "old timers" there are great about helping the new guys (like me). I just bought my first scroll saw to help do roughouts for my carvings. But I also hope to do a few other things with it. I bought a real cheap one from Harbor Freight as my first, just to make sure I like using it at all. I've learned my lesson from having bought too many high end tools that end up just sitting.

Hi Chris welcome to the group. The cheaper saws are okay to start with but sometimes they can lead to people quitting the hobby too. As long as you know the limits of the saw and don't push it to hard it should do the job.

I don't want no bargains, they always cost me more money.
