Thank you Jim, I wait until the problem for uploading a custom avatar is fixed. May be I take Sylvester for a while :-)

I'll follow the tutorial want inlay is said to be easy :-)
One big problem here in Belgium is to find fine boards of wood, ready to work (planed and sanded), in 1 cm thicknes (about 1/2 inch). I can sand little pieces with my little sander not longer than 12 cm x 5 cm. So for little inlay it would be enough, I guess.

The folks at Fox Chapel, (the people who host this site), are having trouble with that, and are working on it. I have the same problem.

    Hello everybody,

thanks for the welcome and for my green site; I ike green :-)
I visited all your websites and galleries, and I am impressed with your works.

I like especially the sentence on Wood-n-things site :
    "A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman;
but a man who works with his hands, his brain and his heart is an artist."-Louis Nizer

I like the inlay of Jim Sawyer and I would like to learn this technique, one day.
    Greatpatterns, Oily :-)
and Keystonecop , you have surely a lot of patience to cut all these wonderfull fretwork, especially the texts in wood. Chapeau ! (in french = congratulations).

Has anyone of you an idea about my problem to upload a custom avatar ?

    Hello,

thank you for the welcome. One of my projects is to duplicate my website in english, so the texts will be more undestandable too :-)

  • Hello, my name is Universal Scroller and I am ... scrolling :-)

    Hello everyone,

Two years ago I discovered scrollsaw with patterns I found on Internet and in the Scrollsaw Woodworking & Craft Magazine and our good fellow Steve Good. I had chance to find these magazines, some good Baltic Birch plywood, an excellent scrollsaw and fine blades.

I started with one of my favourite actors, who comes from here in Belgium : Jean-Claude Van Damme himself.

And he gave me the idea for my username on this forum : Universal Scroller J

I am happy to join this forum !
