But it's been a while and I see lots of new names in the eleventy-seven pages of new posts.

My name's Rob and I'm coming back to scrolling after a break of almost a year. My current project is cleaning the garage so I can actually get to my saw, and that's coming along quite well. Just another few feet and it'll be unearthed Sorry Mike, no pictures will be coming of that project. Maybe the next one.

I mostly work on puzzles and toys, but I have a few ideas I want to explore with inlay. I'm fascinated by Intarsia, but don't seem to have the patience to shape things and after several years I'm still only halfway through my first piece.

My sketchpad is pretty full, and I think many of the ideas will actually work out if I can pour them into wood.

Slight exaggeration on the new posts: it clipped at 20 pages/500 posts: that covers less than a month

Hi all! Thanks for the warm welcome back.

Cathy, I've been doing pretty well, just been overly busy. I need to get back into the shop to clear my head! I can now get to my saw and hope to do some cutting this weekend.

WD, I briefly considered a new avatar. Glad I didn't!

Dale, I think you were gone last I was here. Welcome back yourself

I upgraded back in early winter. I got one with both a solid state as well as hard drive. I couldn't move over my Office 2010 because I'd bought it as a download (which was still functioning just fine for what I used it for) and I never switched it to subscription because of the cost. The old download...

              New turning tools

I just picked up a couple of new heavy handled bowl gauges. 1/2 inch and 3/8 inch from two friends that have tool supply businesses.
Our next Scroll saw club challenge will be segmented scroll saw bowls. I don't sand my bowls, too time consuming, so I will be turning them after glue up.

One problem with upgrading was that many of the programs I use are now subscription based. That really frosts my butt I finally accepted the fact that I normally renew my software frequently anyway the cost difference is negligible.

I did not go with a solid state drive, probably...

Actually, I think mine is more than 10 years old. And what brand would that be? Remember who you’re talking to here about computers.

If you buy a new computer you want to get a solid state hard drive. No moving parts to break or wear out....
