    Hello all
I've recently bought a new Record variable speed 16"scroll saw after a considerable time without. I'm hoping to rekindle my enthusiasm in order to make small items for the grand children. Name plates etc. I'm wondering, does anyone have any opinions due to experience of this saw? I did cut a piece 3/4" thick on the kitchen bench (wife at work) without it being secured and found it cut quite nicely and sat smoothly. The blade in the machine also cut quite smoothly. All comment are welcome. Also are there any templates for nameplates to be recommended on any of the sites, preferably free.

Hey Allejo, Welcome to the forum. You can go to That is Steve Good's site. He has a free program you can download to make name plates.
