  • Hello from Shepherdsville KY

Hello and Greetings from Shepherdsville KY. About 20 miles south of Louisville KY. I have been wood carving in the round for about 4 years. Have done some turning, mostly christmas ornaments and enjoy the challenges that I find.
Recently acquired a used scroll saw from one of the members of the Wood Carvers group I belong to, Falls Cities Wood Carving Guild. Looking forward to trying a few simple patterns to get my feet wet.
Would welcome talking with anyone and everyone about wood working in general. Especially those member living around this area.
Also, look forward to getting more into this blog and learning more about the members, their work, and what challenges I can find. Happy 2012 to everyone.

Welcome A Board!! You will be hard pressed to find a friendlier or more knowledgeable group on the net re: woodworking. Share your knowledge and do not hesitate to ask questions. The only dumb question is the one that remains unasked.

You may find the stickies at the top of this forum to be very helpful. Use the Link below.

Thanks for the info Denny. When I cut acrylic I always use a skip tooth blade at a slower speed. I just did not realize that the epoxy would cut the same way as acrylic so I followed the materials list in the article.

OK folks, picture. I finally figured out how to upload a picture. Here is one each of my version of the oak and cherry boxes. Note the axle peg holding the top in place but allowing it to move.
