thanks all for the welcome, got my saw tonight s/h from ebay, only a small one but ok for a start. will need to get some better blades as the ones that came with the saw, will not turn in there own cut they are too deep
try mikes workshop for blades if your saw uses pinless blades, or check sloanswoodshop for pin end blades. welcome aboard, you found a great family here!

Back in my days of collecting antique pottery, I used to carry a a small blacklight unit to check for repairs that were invisible to the naked eye. I never knew that it could detect glue spots. That's a lot neater than using mineral spirits, or waiting until a sealer coat of shellac reveals missed...
