  • Greetings from West Virginia

I thought I would si Hi. I just recently did my first wood project and it was a set of cornhole boards. Now I have borrowed my dad's Delta 16 inch scroll saw and thought I would give it a try. It's harder than it looks following a pencil line that was been traced on wood. Can anyone point me toward someeasy beginner plans?

    Thanks

Ex-Logan County creek boy here, now exiled to Indiana.

Mike pointed you to a great place to start in the vault. Start simple, but you'll be amazed at the the progression you make. I began just making a few ornaments like mittens, etc, but have just started a monster landscape that I may get done by spring. (It is what I will work on between more pressing projects)

Welcome aboard--look around, ask questions and GO HERD!

There are several Mill Creeks here in WV. I was born and lived in Mineral county most of my life and now reside in Grant county WV. I used to trout fish in Mill Creek in Mineral county years ago. Glad to see another Hillbilly. Welcome aboard. Steve

Spent today building a bench so I wouldn't have to work off of 2 saw horses and a piece of plywood. Now the saw wants to slide around so I am thinking I need a rubber bath mat or something under it. Dad helped and said now I need to build an 8 ft bench for other tools and bench space.

Get some stove bolts, lock washers and nuts and bolt that saw down! Or use wing nuts if you have to remove it.

It will cut down the vibration and give you a much more secure workspace.

The Arizona State Fair is here, and I entered into the fine arts competition in the highly generic category of "Wood Creations", which they in include absolutely everything in wood that's NOT 2D....including carvings, inlay, intarsia, fret, lathe work, furniture, etc ( I have no clue how they...

I have had my Bosch Miter Saw since early 2000 and have used them three or four times at the most, That said is this new or is used? I am almost certain that they are available from replacementparts.com unless the saw model has been discontinued

You can find them on ebay for your saw. Like KarlB, I have had my Makita Chop saw since 2010 and used the hold downs maybe three times. They have their purpose. That saw does need a bit of TLC. Check and make sure it is properly setup.
