  • New boy from the UK

    Hi
I only got into scroll sawing because I have started building a wooden gear clock. I have borrowed a cheap scroll saw but I think I will be investing in an Excalibur before long.

Are there any other members from the UK who can suggest UK suppliers so that I don't have to pay US postage on blades etc.

I have enjoyed the instructional videos on this site. Well done.

Try this link many fine retailers to choose from. I personally recommend Mikes workshop.

Nope not me and I'm not affiliated I do know he sells a quality blade and ships to your area.

Hi Brian and welcome to the best scroll saw forum in the world. Glad to see another Brit on here, we are increasing in numbers all the time now. I get all my blades from Mikes workshop. The flying dutchman blades are in my opinion the best that money can buy, and I'm not alone on here with that opinion. They are very inexpensive too and so is the shipping. I can't buy blades in the Uk much cheaper and the quality and lifespan of the FD blades is far superior to any other I have used. Mike is a very helpful guy too. Just e-mail him with any queiries about blades and which ones to use for what job and he will point you in the right direction. Deliveyr usually takes 4 to 6 days but I have had them in 3. I hope you continue to visit us here and I look forward to seeing some of your work.

Hi Brian - welcome to the board from another Brit although in my case I'm expat living in Mexico and currently working in Italy. I also hope you stick around here and add weight to our numbers. Whatever level of scrolling you are at you'll find this forum full of help and ideas as well as being a showcase for some real craftspeople who are always happy to help less experienced scrollers. We also have quite a few folks who have produced some wicked looking clocks. Just dive in and start a few posts or reply to those of other members and you'll soon feel right at home.

Just out of curiosity, what part of the UK are you from?

              Cheers
