Hello all! My name is Jim and I have been scrolling for about 7 years now. I actually joined this site about a month ago, but I usually don't post to forums very often. I've been sitting back and reading all the wonderful things you all say, learning lots of good techniques and ideas, and even signed up for the charity auction. I know I will enjoy this site and all the people here.

I am an avid woodworker, building things from simple frames and book shelves, to blanket chests and bed frames. But I feel the most relaxing way to make sawdust is by scroll sawing. I really enjoy sitting in my shop/garage, turning on some music, and making something that people love to display in their house.

I just finished my first portrait for my wife. She wanted me to do something for her sister's anniversary, and when she gave me a photo and asked if I can make a pattern, I couldn't pass up the challenge. I use Adobe Photoshop CS for all of my graphics editing. I know, it's probably not your first choice of programs to use, but it's what I've been using for years so I feel comfortable with it. It was a challenge making a decent pattern out of a photo, but I finally figured it out. Let me know what you think.

    Happy to be here!
