It's nice to see our scroll saw community here growing. I haven't occupied a chair here as long as some, but I have hung out here long enough to enjoy the growth of this group.

We now have almost 2000 members who share a passion for scrolling regardless of which style - fretwork, intarsia or segmentation. It is great to see the diversity of work in the scroller galleries and I personally appreciate the willingness of the more experienced here, (notice I didn't say senior or older? ) to share their knowledge with others. I personally have learned a lot from this group.

What a great place to have coffee each day.

Well said Toni. I didnt realize we had toppled that count.
I enjoy the forum as much as I enjoy scrolling.
I did give up coffee though so I will have to have a cup of tea instead.

I have been a member of other clubs and forums but I find they tend to specialize. There is nothing wrong with that I just like to keep my options open.
I still have to try intarsia and I am sure there will be a new technique that no one has ever heard of introduced here.
The collective minds of the forum can only push the hobby further.
"proud member of the best scroll sawing forum on the net."

I upgraded back in early winter. I got one with both a solid state as well as hard drive. I couldn't move over my Office 2010 because I'd bought it as a download (which was still functioning just fine for what I used it for) and I never switched it to subscription because of the cost. The old download...

      New turning tools

I just picked up a couple of new heavy handled bowl gauges. 1/2 inch and 3/8 inch from two friends that have tool supply businesses.
Our next Scroll saw club challenge will be segmented scroll saw bowls. I don't sand my bowls, too time consuming, so I will be turning them after glue up.

One problem with upgrading was that many of the programs I use are now subscription based. That really frosts my butt I finally accepted the fact that I normally renew my software frequently anyway the cost difference is negligible.

I did not go with a solid state drive, probably...

Actually, I think mine is more than 10 years old. And what brand would that be? Remember who you’re talking to here about computers.

If you buy a new computer you want to get a solid state hard drive. No moving parts to break or wear out....
