Show circuit
Toby...where are you in Ohio? I'm about 50 miles south of Marietta on the West Virginia side of the river. Not many scrollers on this side, at least none I know. I'd like to visit some of the shows if there are any within reasonable driving distance. We have several shows each year locally but mostly low end craft items. The West Virginia Arts and Crafts Show is held in Ripley, about 9 miles from me, annually during the week of the 4th. of July. It's a big show covering several acres and is attended by hundreds, if not thousands, of people. About all types of arts and crafts are represented there and the artisan's work must be juried in. I'll try to get you specific info if you're interested. Welcome to the forum. Hope to see you here often. If it don't fit, don't force it....get a bigger hammer!! -

Neal,
Gee, sounds like quite abit of us are in the 'neighborhood.' I'm in Xenia. I've got a brother in law who works for Simonton as a Testing Engineer. I think that is in Pennsboro, WVa? He gets 60% off items at Woodcrafters and if it's a big item... 5% over wholesale. I'm working on him to get me a DeWalt Thickness Planer. heh heh heh.
Anyway, we all need to get together or something.Comment

Reply to Testing this blower motorby RolfWithout the complete schematic it is hard to know what is correct.
That said, it is a multispeed blower that obviously has a controller board. That board varies the power to the motor. By doing what you did you bypassed that. You put power across the low and high windings. If any thing connecting...-

Reply to Testing this blower motorby evilbadgerIf he connected to red and black and the motor spun wouldn't that indicate the motor is grounded? Without connecting the white the circuit isn't complete and the motor should not spin.

Reply to Testing this blower motorby cwmageeThe reason for the smoke is incorrect wiring, posible melted insulation between motor windings and motor frame.
You mentioned connecting power to the red & and black wire. Did you do anything with White wire? Per the lable on the motor the black wire is high the Red is low. White common...-
