Interesting idea , Rolf, since the camera sees what is really there, and we just see what we think/hope/expect is there.

The tile top kitchen table that Joe and I built with love and care has planer marks that we didn’t see until years after we finished the project. Now we every piece...

I agree wholeheartedly! It not only needs to feel good but needs to look good. That really comes into play on furniture.
I like to take pictures and look at them before finishing, especially with intarsia.

Thanks Betty. I agree with Bruce completely. It's easy to get impatient at the end of a project, but especially if something is going out for sale, or will appear in print, who wants to see a badly glued seam or glue spots staring back at them! I usually take a break before applying final coats just...

    Great article Carole.

we got the magazine yesterday. My opinion the best paragraphs were Final Steps. Too many times we see beautiful work at shows and Bruce runs his hands over it and it is rough, glue marks and poorly sanded. He often says “Why would someone take all that time to make a beautiful piece and ruin it by...

Those were the days, Dick! We had so much fun at Saratoga Springs, and will always remember the get-together at McDonald's with you, Debbie McGowan, and the rest of the gang. Your warmth and support made me feel part of one big scrolling family!

    It took courage to "upscale"...

Carole, it certainly was great to read about your expansion of shared woodworking knowledge in other publications. I will always remember our conversations at dinner in Saratoga Springs concerning the frustrations of working in the condo workshop and your being unsure of taking a big step with Joe...

Thanks, Gloria. Glad to see you posting again. I remember all the lovely work you did when I was still new to the scroll saw. It certainly helped raise my expectations for what women can accomplish as woodworkers.
