  • Making Wooden " People and Pets" book

From the first time I saw these designs I had to make them. The first one I cut was in the Spring issue SSWWC. Well they just published a book of these stick figures by Jean-Bernard Germe. I had to order it. What a fun collection of 24 projects. This is my start. I am using scraps as they are not very big. The tree in the Holly log slice is my own.(2" tall) the stick figures are about 4" tall. They are all fast easy cuts. I really like the reader. I will do the female version of it also. I still have to put a coat or two of satin lacquer on them. The tree takes about three minutes to cut and another few minutes to carve (power carve using the Vortex F5) The paint is Unicorn spit.

I am with Denny, BUT I love the tree. I have thought about something like that, but you have so much more detail than i thought. Really 3D.

Nice work Rolf. I also like the tree the most although I also think the stick figures are kind of cute and amusing.

I am constantly looking for some new direction in my projects so that I don't lose my interest. Something about the simplicity of stick figures got me. We will see how they sell, I need to do a short video of making the trees. They really are fun to make.
