A pencil with a pocket clip. If I don't have a pocket clip on the pencil it is always falling out or I set the pencil down and I can't find it when I need it.
I once had a small plastic "speed square" which also had a protractor built in. I don't remember where I got it. Probably the handiest "cheap" tool I ever owned. I lost that thing several years ago when I got divorced. I really miss it!!! ( There were a couple times when I missed my ex-wife...so I quit shooting at her!!)
If it don't fit, don't force it....get a bigger hammer!!
My spring clamps....couldn't tape up a tight stack without them. At under $1 each, they are priceless.

small 6" x half inch metal precision ruler. Measures down to a 64th, very acurate, and also substitutes as a scraper or glue remover. gets down into those tough to reach corners!
