  • How to start the day

With 4 people replacing your roof! You’d think there was a whole army up there. Boss said they would be here by 7:30. By 7 the dumpster was in the driveway and they were tying off ladders. Boss came at 8 to check on them and left to check on another job. Lucky for them it’s a cool day. Money well spent. Now, where are my earplugs and headphones? Support local small business!!!!

Good to hear, supporting the local business, we had our roof replaced back in September they had 11 (9 guys 2 girls ). Down here they only do 1 layer, so they removed old and replace any bad roof plywood, they did a great job, RJ

There was only one layer on as Bruce and his brothers took the 2 layers off when they did the roof 20+ years ago. Our house was built in late 50s and had the 1” slats on the old section and plywood on addition. They had to replace some slats for an extra $150 but no other damage. We also had seamless gutters put up. Sad fact: the kitchen, new hvac system, hot water heater, roof and some other recent updates we put $30,000 into the house. In 1976 we bought it for $35,500. Houses in our area are going for $300,000+. Even with a 2 1/2 hour nap, it’s been a long day. Good night.

So many people ignore maintenance. Money well spent. Keeps major problems away! Make sure to keep your receipts for those major expenses. Eventually when you sell they could be considered part of the cost basis of the house---decreasing the "profit" the IRS believes you have so you aren't taxed on quite so much gain. And with good maintenance you will experience a gain for sure!

Rolf, if your Picassa file works I want it!!! They cram so much into newer programs that it just complicates things and takes away intuitive stuff. Thank you for checking!

            Linda,
Quote, I kept my old computer even though it was barely alive simply due to one particular program...Picassa by Google...which they removed from the market years ago. It worked like a combo photo and editing program but easier. It could take a photo and change it to a line drawing beautifully...

There is a free software package by GLARY Utilities by glarysoft that our local computer club uses to clean junk off do hard drives and defrag. They recommend running it monthly. You should also check for malware which most antivirus software does not prevent.
