  • Dastra vs Stubai

    8) I have some 2 cherries gouges. Just recieved some Dastra brand sweeps. Man also sells Stubai brand. Not sure how the two brands compare but seem to cost about the same. All German made. I agree with the idea of only buying the profiles you need unless you come across an estate. Any owners out there? Thanks

    Re: Dastra vs Stubai

I've got some of each (tool junky) and both are good. Stubai has absolutely the best veiners around though. It's due to the design rather than the metal. They are VERY deep and work great. A bit of a hassle to sharpen because they are so deep, but worth the effort. Little Shavers stocks them, as I'm sure others do.

I have the Pegas replacement table for my EX21. It was the best investment that I made. The best part is they eliminated the useless vacuum holes and reduced the size of the blade hole as well. Another benefit was the table stiffened the EX21 frame eliminating much of resonant vibration. It is a much...

The perfect solution when I need a wider top on my Hegner. A magnetic sheet! I decided not to get the Pegas as the only reason was for the wider top and the top feed blade. After 19 years, my Hegner is still running like new and I couldn’t justify the expense. It was a “want” and not a “need”....

Good idea Scott. Also, my daughter has long, curly hair. She twists it up and around and sticks a pencil in to hold it. I also stick a dowel in my hair when working and my hair gets in my way and I twist it up. The one in this picture would perfect for thick hair.
