Re: Oscillating Spindle Sanders
I have not seen any commercially available but I bet you could make one with a dowel and some paper. perhaps a saw kerf centered in the dowel to make it a mandrel... some super glue.... double sided tape.... chuck the dowel in the drill press or hand drill. Also dremel etc. type tools do have some small ones. Just some thoughts.
Does anyone know of a maker of these that makes a smaller spindle diameter than 1/2 inch? The only one I've looked at was a Delta B.O.S.S. @ the local Lowes store in town.I do one carving that is real popular and I need a way to speed up one part of the process.I need one with at most a 3/8 inch spindle. If I can't find anything smaller, I may have to modify my plans.
I had considered useing a hot glue gun but I like to be able to reuse some of the bigger waste pieces. Also when I use brads and they extend through the bottom piece I am always carefull to take a small hammer and tap the points back up flush with the bottom piece so I do not scratch the table.
