    Re: Tree ID Guide

The National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Trees is good. I bought the guide for flowers and it is a great book. They sell it on and they have some sample pages so you can see what the pictures look like. Make sure you get the one for your region. i picked up the wrong one and had to return if for my area. But it is a great book and easy to use.

    Tree ID Guide

Looking for recommendation for a tree id guide when roaming woods looking for carving stock. I live in southeastern U.S.

Rolf, a dough board is not the same as a cutting board. The end pieces form a bench hook to hold the board in place. You can't see it from the posted photos, so here's a commercial dough board that may clarify things.

Betty, I was talking about the bottom of the paduk board with what looks like dowel plugs. You say there are screws under those plugs? Are the screws going into a cross piece that holds the wood strips together?
