  • Snow anyone??

If anyone would like some snow FREE of charge I can supply it by the truck load.

*groan* Parts of my driveway was buried 8 feet deep today.

Probably not as much as some parts of the U.S. but boy it's the most I have seen up here in quite some time...

The spring seems an eternity away!!

What part of the US are you in? We haven't had much snow this year, however we did get about 6 inches yesterday and expecting more Thursday or Friday.

I'm not in any part of the U.S. bud. I'm from the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador (the most easterly province in Canada and the most easterly point in NA)

We usually get a lot of rain along with the snow but this year the snow has been just relentless with the cold temps staying up there...

Can't wait for it to end.

Sorry about that. I should have realized that the nf on your name meant Newhoundland. I haven't made it to that part of the world yet. My next door neighbor went up there last fall and said it was beautiful. I have been as close as Maine though.

Good luck with all of the snow. Spring will be there soon too.

Just a word about snow and the removal of.

I know we get ticked at the guys running snow removal equipment because they tend to fill our driveways when they go by, but they do a great job which is usually thankless other than a paycheck.
I know that sliding down the side of a mountain in a truck full of sand doesn't really do much for me and I cant think of a sum of money they could pay me to do it.

Hats off to the men and women behind the plows, snow blowers and sanders.

mind you if they are behind the sanders they would get pretty sore.

I agree totally with Carl's comments here - including being inclined to be ticked off when the snow ploughs block the end of our drive ...

I was amazed when we moved here how well the roads between us and the town were cleared - anything more than a couple of inches of snow and the plough is back and forth 4 or 5 times in an evening. We're not on a major route by any means - just a small local road.

Coming from the UK where 2 inches of snow can bring a city to a standstill I'm impressed - and grateful ..

We have another storm in the forcast for this weekend.

I think it will probably be a state of emergency if this one hits like predicted.

We got about 9 inches of snow over the course of 3 days last week in Ohio, now the temps are getting up in the high 30'sF and it's raining. Today is just sloppy and wet, without the 20 below wind chill.

You're really get dumped on this year in NF - there were pics on our local news this morning of St Johns. NS is tropical by comparison ..lol

Whereabouts in NF are you, Kerry?

I'm just outside the capital of St. John's in a little town called Conception Bay South. We drive to work in the city every day...today was horrible. Walls of snow 15 to 20 feet high in places.

The little streets in downtown St. John's where I work are just a nightmare...hardly room for pedestrians to walk let alone cars.
