yes sir, your not kidding. Sunday morning I couldn't get the padlock off the gate at work. Key wouldn't turn in the hole, finally I bent the key, while it was freezing cold and blizzarding out. Had to take my tow chain out and hook it on to the lock, then drive away! Then my tractor wouldn't start. We have 26 tractors, and 18 wouldn't start on monday morning. School was also closed monday due to the cold temp.Jeff Powell

It's cold enough my diesel work van won't start. And it's been plugged in since Friday. LOL Cheap way to get out of going to work ... unfortunately, work is piling up! I feel your pain Jeff.

I was complaining this past weekend because it was too cold and windy to go hiking. It was in the 40s.
There's only one response to that ...
Hey if it was in the 40s you'd see Canadians in shorts ...Ian

That was smart.Eleven degrees would feel pretty good to me right now. We went 60 some hours straight without getting above zero. It's actually a whole 1 degree here right now. A couple mornings ago the windchill was -40. Spring isn't far away now.
BTW, where did you come up with the degree symbol?

I just popped into the barn when I got home for a sec and noticed it's 33 in there. Never saw it get under 39. I had to turn on the heat to the lowest possible setting, which i think is 45. Don't want anything to freeze in there. Wood glue is ok to freeze once only. I don't know about any other products like poly's or paints. Hopefully anyone that works in a small unheated shop has already brought anything that can freeze into the house.Jeff Powell

I know it is all relative but when it is 14 degrees in Raleigh, NC you know it is cold. BTW I used to live in Plattsburgh, NY A place where every winter we had 7-10 days straight days where the high would stay below zero..... I was much much much younger thenand I guess I am getting soft.

by handibunnyCraig, it might help to give more information about what type of dog you're making. Given the variety of projects that can be made with the scroll saw, it could range from artistic and realistic, to cartoonish and childlike.
For example, is it a puzzle, child's toy, intarsia? Each of these...-

by RolfYes I know ebony is expensive. but it is what I use for all of my animal eyes. If round I turn them on my lathe, sand and polish them. I like it because with a high gloss they pick up the light in the room and appear to follow you. I have also use black walnut and Wenge. Sand and polish . I also have...
