  • Gonna be a Grandad!

My oldest daughter and her husband are expecting a baby in September! This will be our first grandchild. I'm just busting! I already volunteered to build the baby a changing table/dresser. Looks like I won't be doing a whole lot of scrolling for awhile.

This is great news..... If you have to stop scrolling for a while there is no better reason.

Congrats Bill- the first one is so very special -- nothing in the world can compare-Now you said you will stop scrolling for a while --bite your tounge !!!!I have a grandaughter that is a huge fan of my scrolling . and she is always finding something when she goes through my mags that she just has to have "Right now Nanna- before I go home" needles to say - she gets it. lol-- there are so many wonderful things out there to make to dress up a childs room .. the things you can make from birth to adult are endless. --So don't rest your saw to fast Gramps-- There is dust to be made yet.

Congratulations to you and your daughter!
No scrolling? Well at least you'll still be making some sawdust with the changing table!

Congrats Bill! I know the feeling, I'm going to be a first time Grandma in June! Can't wait. Hubby is making a cradle and I'm doing some scroll saw cutouts on the ends. The best part about this is I don't get fat for 9 months, no crying baby at night, no sick baby to tend to and no sleep deprivation. I can just love, spoil and return!!!

                      Thanks everyone.

Sharon, not giving up scrolling, just that most of my shop time will be consumed with making baby furniture for the forseeable future. I work slow and these kind of projects take me a long time to complete, so I guess I have to put off some of the scrollsaw projects I've been wanting to do. However, once the tyke is a little older, I expect I'll find all sorts of scrollsaw stuff to clutter up his/her room with.

First, let me say those are beautiful! Second, I can tell you that on the Facebook laser forums those people have been hunting for sources on cutting and charcuterie boards to laser engrave various personalizations onto. Some are willing to pay for quality and the finished pieces show it. Others...

A custom order for the "Wedding Rings" designer unknown. I used 1/2" solid Cherry and cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using Pegas #1 and #3 MGT blades. After sanding with a Mac Mop sprayed with 2 coats MinWax Lacquer Clear Gloss sanding between coats. Comments welcome.

If you are talking about their microlux, that is the same as the little proxxon saw, and it is the absolute worse scrollsaw I've ever used. They also have a 16" (the saw rebranded a thousand times) which is also a distant second in the running for worst designed saws ever.
