I too enjoy many of his patterns. Even though I have never met him, I will miss his influence on the sctolling community. Thanks for a lot of great patterns. Condolances to the family.

Dirk as a real gentleman and a class act. 5 minutes with him in Saratoga and we were best friends. RIP.

I the pleasure of meeting him and his wife Karen at the North Texas show awhile back, and they were great people. I will keep Karen in my thoughts.

I just though you would like to know.

It is indeed a sad day for the scrolling community. I had the privilege of meeting Dirk and Karen at a Texas picnic several years ago. Dirk was always helpful and a very interesting person. His patterns are legendary and I have done many of them. Dirk was one of the major forces to help turn our craft into an art. My thoughts and prayers are with Karen and the family.

Deepest condolences to his wife and family. Was really shocked as I was just reading the SSWC Fall issue which has an article about him, his wife and The Art Factory. Seems like we've lost a giant in our industry. Too soon, too sad.
