sounds like my brother-in-law had a mule of a Christmas...

after a long night of celebrating Christmas Eve with the family I was awakened early this morning with a phone call from Montana thanking me for my gift....they just love Hank....

my sister-in-law gave him the would of thought we had this planned...

my brother in law got a mule earlier this year for his 50th birthday.
He's also a retired special forces guy and when he left the Army they rehabilitated him as a farrier (a guy who puts shoes on horses)...

that phone call this morning was worth every minute I put into Hank...
and now the rest of the family wants to know when are they going to get their pieces...

Hank is such a wonderful piece of art. I have a cousin that is a mule skinner in Idaho. He would sure like something like that. I don't think I could ever make one like that, but it does give me something to work for.

Trout, I may have said it before but as one who does intarsia to one who does art, Very great job on Hank.

When a work lifts your spirits and inspires bold and noble thoughts in you, do not look for any other standard to judge by: the work is good, the product of a master craftsman.

A quick Google search for fretwork book stands showed pattern on Pinterest. Might be worth a look.

I agree that with fret work the grey areas may be useful but not needed for Intarsia and some others. It would not be difficult to use grey for some patterns and just lines on others.

Another thing to note is that not many have the ability, software or equipment to stitch patterns back...

                This is only my opinion.

Hi Linda, My first reaction is it looks good, and my new toy craving started to twitch, but I thing it will be very limiting very quickly.

It is a small engraving machine and if that is what you want and need maybe OK. You are limited to 1/8 shank...

[QUOTE=Quartz43;n873079]No doubt, the large patterns are a real challenge. Not many have a large size printer. Going out and finding a place to do large scans and prints is problematic with the virus and many of us are older.

I wish they would not print the patterns with the grey. Pure...
