Sharon, The program you downloaded is also the one I use, AVG, and it automatically scans emails as soon as they arrive and before they are opened. It is an excellent program. I also have spyware from aol, which also picked up the virus, notified me, whatever it did. The AVG is an excellent program. My harddrives are set to scan daily so I know it was something I was doing when the virus appeared. The program detects and deletes virus automatically. PHEW! Hope this is the end, we all have more important things to do!! You can also set up your computer to send all emails that have forward, fwd, or any variation to your spam comtrols. My spam box gets about 30 emails a day. I scan the titles to see if it is anything I should read, like when Fox Chapel was going to spam, and delete the rest.

I haven't had any viruses since yesterday, maybe it's finally gone. I did run a complete computer scan which took well over an hour and it came up clean. I first noticed it when I was viewing Crafty's Pics, see our posts on that. When I clicked on the pictures it showed me the pictures, also a flashing porn site. (no comments please, Dale) Things seem to have settled down, but if it happens again, I'll write everything down and forward it to you. Thanks for your attention to this problem.

well just to be on the safe side I downloaded that program mike was talking about- so does this mean I am fully protected?--probably not but you can never be to careful. I was wondering Betty-- do you open your e mails?? I use to get a lot of bugs through forwarded mail till I learned better ( Had to buy a whole new puter and pay a fortune on repairs on thatlesson.) Now I just don't open mail that is forwarded from ANYONE. and I am careful to whom I open that I do know.

Personally, I think if it was the board with the problem there would be a lot more than just a couple members having virus issues. I open up just about everything that can be opened and I have never had a problem. It has to be people's personal computers.

Hi Betty,
I've scanned the whole board and found no trojans or viruses. Did you run a complete scan of your hard drive? If so, please provide any more details. Specifically, what file the virus/trojan was attached to. In addition, what were you doing on the message board when the antivirus picked up the trojan.... Posting a picture, viewing a page, searching, etc...

Bob: THANK YOU!! The virus I am getting is a Trojan (no comments, please, Dale and the rest have already made enough) Puper.DL; Trojan Generic; Downloader Generic. My antivirus picked one up while I was in here just a few minutes ago. I'm not saying it's coming from your site, but something is going on. And I can't blame my son as he hasn't been on here since Saturday!! I'll call you later about the picture uploading!!

Yes Dale, I know you are only kidding. I can take kidding and give as well!! Ok, I got hit with another virus when I signed on this morning and I was the only one here yesterday, just this site and my Avon site. I do hope Bob or Robb are checking this out since I am not the only getting the virus. I guess I'll have to talk to Linda, Dale.

Betty, I do hope you realize I am a nutcase , and I am just having fun with you. Nobody likes a Trojan, and yes, a virus can be deadly without proper treatment. Our comp is set to automatically scan the full system every Friday afternoon, and the updates whenever we shut down. I can have no trouble with any of that stuff for a long long time, then one of the kids uses this comp, and things start gettin messed up. I will run a scan tonight though.
one more thing........ Linda didnt slap me when I let her read that thread!!! Aint I lucky??? ale

Ok, guys, I just sent Bob D an email. I was on my computer for 2 hours this morning, after I was in here for about 15 minutes I picked up another virus (Dale, notice I said virus!!). I don't know if I'm giving the virus or getting it. I will run a complete scan on my computer and suggest you do the same.

Reply to Hello from Central Floridaby John SmithThanks guys, I have a lot of HDU left over from my sign business in various thicknesses.
HDU doesn't "fuse" or repair itself under heat or friction. Only acrylics and some PVC materials do that. Depending on what part of the world you are in, you would have to google HDU Distributors...-

Reply to Phone call from son.by Jim McDonaldMy kids always call me since I am the one who probably did the stuff they are calling about.
I know it's scary to get that call, but I'm glad to hear the charge exited where it did before it went any further.
Probably hurts like hell and he has a copper taste in his mouth...-

Reply to Hello from Central Floridaby RolfWelcome to the group. I look forward to seeing more of your work. You will probably need to slow down you scroll saw when cutting the urethane on the scroll saw. If the blade gets to hot it will fuse back together.
I have used the house trim board material which I think is PVC. Where do you purchase...-

Reply to Hello from Central Floridaby John Smiththanks for the kind words - I'm not really a scroller "enthusiast", per se. I like to make dimensional signs and have always used the band saw, routers, or Roto-Zip to cut the elements out then do some handcarving to perk them up a bit. I'll put some of my projects in my folder later on....
