  • At sea??

Well, I was supposed to go back to sea last week, but apparently there is something wrong with the ship. Darn. Now I will go this week sometime, but only for a week or two.

Anyway, Since I was home, I cut out a POW/MIA pattern I was working on. I have one in a book, but decided to make my own pattern, and that is what I did and it looks great.

Now I am working on another military theme. If any of you happen to have the Fox Chappel Book Scroll Saw Military Designs by Mike and Vicky Lewis, you can get a grasp on what I am trying to do. I took the four basic emblems, Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps, (with a little modification in photoshop) and am going to put them on one project. I can't decided if I want all four in a row, or in some kind of pattern, or with some kind of slogan. Really driving me nuts. Any suggestions?

Try one in each corner with perhaps a flag or saying such as "To Honor Those Who Serve" in the center.

I've hesitated to mention this design because it's British. Perhaps you could adapt it?

There is no opinion, however absurd, which men will not readily embrace as soon as they can be brought to the conviction that it is readily adopted.

So many are selling them here it’s not worth us making them. However, we do very well with our dough boards. Nobody else makes them. We have an order for a dough board and matching pepper grinder. The walnut board I could make into a beautiful basket or two and sell for lots more than they are getting...

I use #7 on my younger kid puzzles. Easier for them to put together.

I did forget to mention he cut a finger on his left hand with the bandsaw. Just took skin off. Lucky again. Told him he was calling 911 next time.

Jim, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, on the left you’ll find some style options that change the font size and color. I’ve been using Defalt vB5 Style, and it seems to be about the best for my iPad, but I’m still experimenting with my iMac.
