Knowing how John hates winter I just wanted him to know it ain't all peaches and cream here either. The pool has only gotten into the 8o's twice so far this year.

G'day Rob,
I'll be thinking of you blokes when it snows over there.
I'm getting sick of scraping frost of windscreens.
If you can find a spot to stay out of the wind the days are pretty glorious, sunny and max of between 14 and 20c, but that bloody wind is lazy.Regards

+12.1C (low fifties) here tonight. Up in the mountains some lakes are still mostly covered with ice. No problem with too hot water! ;-)Ivar ("treslakter" - read as "woodbutcher")

BTW guys these views of Lake Chaplain is the West channel Between Valcour Island and NY. It is also the exact site of the first American Naval battle. The green American fleet under the command of Benedict Arnold got it's butt kicked by the British under General Schylur
They quit the fight at sun down to be finished in the morning. Not wanting to over do on a good thing left during the night. Ben scuttled a couple badly damaged gun boats off what is now Schylur Island, six miles south of the battle sight. Pressing on the Brits caught the fleet at Split Rock took the boats and put everyone ashore and the walked back to Fort Ticonderoga at the tips of Lake Champlain and Lake George.
If you use Google earth search Valcour Island
Sorry for running on and please watch your step as you disembark.
Thank you for using Tour by Oily
As a side note. notice the signage on the boat launch. I think it doubles as an evolution reversal water entry point.Last edited by oily; 07-10-2012, 08:21 PM.May the wind at you back .....

Plenty of homes for sale. the average price in Kalgoorlie is about $350,000.
I have had to scrape ice of windscreens for the past 5 mornings. Come on Autumn, a glorious time of year and a chance for me to thaw outRegards

Oh the agony!!! Pool water only 90, while the air temperature only 92. Far too cold to go swimming here...Over to Myrtle Beach in late February, went wading on the beach until my feet turned blue--about 3 seconds. There was a group further up the beach swimming--those were the Canadians. On the darker side, I lived in New York State, about 20 miles from the shores of Lake Erie, where the snow flies 11 1/2 out of 12 months, for 60 years. Reply to Architectural Playsetby EnnobeeRight now I live in the greater Houston area, which is by Texas standards 'next door', meaning you only have to drive 4 hours, 2 of them being the Houston commute. But yea, I miss the old missions. That's why I made this project.

Reply to Question about tilting head sawsby RolfI have both types of saw A tilting table Hawk g426 and an Older Excalibur with a tilting head. Unlike Carole for bevel cuts I prefer the tilting head I do larger projects and it is easier for me.
Regarding compound cuts they are cut at 90 degrees.
If I were in the market for a new...-

Reply to Question about tilting head sawsby handibunnyIf you have a good saw, and can set the table accurately, you should be good to go. Give a holler if you need help. 😁
Randy, I swapped out the clamps on the Jet for the Pegas clamps as soon as they became available. I found the Jet clamps just too fidgety for my taste.-
