  • Lost my Mom last week

The last couple of weeks have been the hardest weeks of my life!! June 7 my mom went to the emergency room due to her feet swelling and turning color. She had a poor circulation due to a vascular disease. She had also started dialysis about a month ago as her kidneys had given up which was brought on by taking Vioxx some years back. They sent her by ambulance to a larger hospital 100 miles away. Her health deteriorated quickly and by the 10th we realized she was not going to improve. With heavy hearts we got her transferred back to her home town and into hospice care. We lost her on June 14. I am profoundly sad although I know she doesn't hurt anymore. She was funny and fun to be around, always willing to try new things, always smiling. I miss her so much! Thanks for letting me share her with you!

Oh Cathy, I'm so sorry about the loss of your mother.

From her picture, she looks like she had so much to give and so much spirit. People like your mom have to leave a large empty spot when they're gone. At least you had a little time to prepare, and to say goodbye and do whatever needed to be said or done. I'm sure she knew how much she was loved, and had to take some comfort in that.

Thank you for sharing her with us.

So sorry to hear Cathy. Your pic reminds of a Mom I knew for a very long time.
They looked very much alike and had that same twinkle in the eye.
May the wind at you back .....

Other than the loss of a child, the worst is when you lose a parent. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sorry for your loss Cathy. I lost my mother 2 years ago to liver disease. She was in hospice care for a week before she passed. I still miss her, but I remember the fun times and the weekend before she passed she wanted to see her whole family and she said goodbye and she loved us.

I have made a number of those Harvey puzzles. They are a lot of fun. You really need to be patient and let the blade cut. Even the slightest pressure can ruin your puzzle piece fit. My go to is a Pegas #3 MGT....
